Agent Reliability Is Hiring. Almost None of It Is Remote.

“Agent reliability” is becoming a real job function, even though almost nobody
advertises it under that title yet. Companies are paying engineers specifically to
stop AI agents from failing silently — evaluation harnesses, orchestration quality,
monitoring, deployment safety — and filing those duties under whatever title their
org chart already has.

I checked what is actually open this week. The roles are real and recent. The
remote part is not.

Every posting below was opened on its employer’s own careers page and re-checked on
9 August 2026. Where a page would not load for me, I say so rather than passing
along a link I could not confirm.

What is open, and where it is really located

1. ServiceNow (Moveworks) — Machine Learning Engineer, Agentic AI Harness & Quality

• Posted: 5 August 2026
• Location reality: Mountain View, California. The employer’s page states
  “Required in Office” — this is not a remote role.
• Why it is on this list: the work is explicitly agent evaluation, reliability,
  orchestration, grounding and deployment safety — the duties, filed under an ML
  engineering title.

2. ServiceNow (Moveworks) — Software Engineer, Agentic AI Harness & Quality

• Why it is on this list: the sibling posting to the one above, weighted toward
  reliable agent systems, orchestration, sandboxed execution and productionisation
  rather than the ML side.

Two roles, same team, same week — worth reading as a signal about where that group’s
headcount is going.

3. BlackRock — AI Agent Developer, L&C, Associate

• Posted: 6 August 2026
• Location reality: Gurgaon, Haryana, India. Onsite/hybrid, four days a week
  in the office. It is not advertised as a worldwide remote role, and applying from
  outside India is not what this posting is for.
• Why it is on this list: the description covers designing, testing and deploying
  agents, and explicitly includes monitoring and optimising accuracy, efficiency and
  reliability — inside a legal and compliance function, where a silently wrong agent
  output has consequences.

Two I am not listing as live

I found two more that look relevant — a Salesforce Agentforce engineering role at
UCHealth in Denver (hybrid, four days in office) and an agentic workflow engineering
role at GlobalLogic/Hitachi advertised as Croatia-based remote.

Both employer pages returned HTTP 403 to my checks today. That does not mean the
jobs are gone; it means I could not confirm them, and an unconfirmed application link
is exactly the kind of thing this lane exists not to publish. If you want them, go to
those employers’ own career sites directly rather than trusting a link I could not
open.

What the pattern actually tells you

Three confirmed postings, two countries, and not one of the three is fully
remote: two require office attendance in Mountain View, the third is hybrid in
Gurgaon.

Be careful with that finding, because it is easy to overstate and I nearly did. It
is a statement about the three roles I could verify, not a census of the field. The
fourth role above — the GlobalLogic/Hitachi one I could not open — is advertised as
Croatia-based remote. That does not overturn the point so much as sharpen it: remote
in that listing still means remote inside one country, which is a region lock with
a friendlier label.

So the honest version is that remote agent-reliability work exists and is scarcer
than the “remote” tag suggests. If you are searching for it, the roles filtering into
your feed are worth opening and reading to the bottom before you spend an evening on
the application — the region lock is usually there, one line above the apply button.

A second, quieter signal: these roles sit inside quality, evaluation and compliance
functions rather than a research team, and none of them is literally titled “agent
reliability engineer”. Companies are not hiring people to
make agents smarter. They are hiring people to make agents provable. If your
experience is in testing, verification, observability or QA, that is closer to this
category than a model-training background is.

How to read any posting in this category

Three checks before you apply:

1. Find the location line, not the “remote” tag. The tag is set by whoever posted
   it; the location line is set by whoever has to sign the offer.
2. Check whether “remote” means “remote within one country”. Croatia-remote,
   US-remote and India-hybrid are three different jobs.
3. Look at which function owns the role. Agent reliability inside a compliance or
   quality org has a very different day-to-day from the same title inside research.

Postings move fast. Everything above was true when I checked it on 9 August 2026, and
the only honest way to use this list is to open the link yourself before you invest
time in it.
